ONE Fight Night 14, Singapore – Allycia Rodrigues graced the room with a strong presence full of drive and ready to conquer the Muay Thai World Championship Title. Allycia moved up in weight class to challenge Smilla Sundell. With her strong history of defeating Stamp Fairtex and incredible striking power, she is fully prepared to try and obtain her second belt at ONE Championship for ONE Fight Night 14.
Allycia Rodrigues Predicts “War” with Smilla Sundell
Allycia Rodrigues is confident in her abilities but knows that her upcoming bout against Smilla Sundell will be a tough battle. When asked her prediction of the fight, she chuckled and said “I foresee war,” but affirmed that “I’m ready for it.” She feels that her strength is in her “striking power” in Muay Thai. She’s eager to get into the cage and show her abilities to battle the youngest Muay Thai World Champion, Smilla.
A World Champion and A Mother
We’re so impressed with Allycia’s ability to balance being a mother and also maintaining the challenges of being one of the best athletes in the world. Allycia explained “it’s really hard to be honest.” She said that while she’s training for fights, “I have to step out as being a full-time mother” but “thankfully we live together” so she’s still able to spend time with her family.
There’s a fine line in being able to find balance. She said she knows that she “needs to listen to [her] body to rest” but ultimately there’s no secret formula, she just “tries [her] best” to be the best mom and athlete.
ONE Fight Night 14: Historic All-Female Led Card
This All-Female Headlined Card is set to be a historic event for the organization and the incredible women fighters representing martial arts. Ever since Allycia saw the announcement for the card she “really wanted to be a part of it.” She realizes that “it’s such a special place to be on the main card, especially representing women.” Ultimately, she expressed that she’s “so excited to be on this card” and make history with ONE Championship.
