Craig Jones wasn’t joking about B-Team Jiu-Jitsu

Yes, B-Team Jiu-Jitsu is Real and You Should Visit!

Located in South Austin, the new B-Team Jiu-Jitsu space is starting to see some action as the grapple stars move in to the city. Countfilms was able to tour the facility with the team and see what they’re currently up to as they get settled. You can easily find the exact location of the gym by googling “B-Team Jiu Jitsu.” This area of Austin, Texas is considered South Austin. South Austin is known for it’s art & music history. There is a thriving live music scene, as well as pop up art shows at breweries, coffee shops & local venues south of Ben White Blvd e.i. Highway 71. The motto of Austin has been celebrated as ‘Keep Austin Weird’ for decades, and it’s safe to say that the new B-Team Jiu-Jitsu Academy is just going to add to South Austin preserving the good ol’ Austin City Motto!

What Exactly is B-Team Jiu-Jitsu?

The B-Team consists of Craig Jones, Nick Rodriguez, Nicky Ryan & Ethan Crelinsten. They were previously members of the international grappling team known as the ‘Danaher Death Squad’ with additional member Gordon Ryan. That was until their coach, John Danaher disbanded the team to begin ‘New Wave Jiu-Jitsu’ with Gordon Ryan.

Garry Tonon is also on his way to Austin, Texas! He will be continuing his gym franchise “Garry Tonon Jiu-Jitsu” in the city too.

Craig Jones Announced it First on Instagram

Craig Jones is known for being a prankster online but surprisingly fans didn’t take him seriously when he announced the formation of their new grappling team “B-Team Jiu-Jitsu”. In Craig’s words:

“Big announcement today. I’m announcing the formation of the ‘B-Team.’ The B-Team will be me, Nicky Ryan, Nicky Rod, and sadly, Ethan Crelinsten. We’re aiming to open early September, and our location will be Austin, Texas. We’ll be about ten minutes south of downtown. And I want you all to know, that despite being a complete idiot on social media, I’m taking this very serious. I’m here to help you achieve all of your jiu-jitsu goals, whether that be party time hobbyist training or whether you’re looking to achieve some silver medals in competition. I hope to see y’all in September.”

What’s Next for the B-Team?

What we do know is that all the team members are currently injured as stated by Jones in our youtube video. Craig Jones says everything in a joking manner, therefore assuming that the B-Team doesn’t have tricks up their sleeves, despite fostering injuries, would be a mistake. A lot of renewed energy and focus has come with Austin’s instant change of pace and culture. Jones is scheduled to compete September 25-26 at Flograppling’s WNO Championships. This will be his first official competition participating under the new B-Team Jiu-Jitsu banner.
