However, fate had a different plan for him, and a knee injury led him to explore Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Within a mere ten days of starting BJJ, he earned his blue belt – an achievement that astonished many in the BJJ community. Camarillo’s skills continued to flourish, and within just two years, he achieved the rank of brown belt, gaining recognition as a formidable competitor.

Camarillo Achieves Coveted Black Belt

After a total of six years of intense training and competition, Dave Camarillo reached the pinnacle of BJJ success – the black belt. This prestigious milestone acknowledged his extraordinary abilities and solidified his position as an exceptional martial artist. Notably, his black belt in BJJ was awarded by Ralph Gracie, further attesting to the high regard in which he was held within the martial arts community.
