ONE Fight Night 14, Singapore – CountFilms.com was covering media day For ONE Fight Night 14 and we had the pleasure of interviewing Jessa Khan before her upcoming bout with Danielle Kelly for the first ever ONE Women’s Grappling World Championship Title. Jessa Khan is coming off her impressive win at the 2023 IBJJF World Championship which ultimately led her to this bout at ONE Fight Night 14.
Khan Thinks “The Fight Will Go My Way”
While Khan ultimately beat Kelly back in 2021 by unanimous decision, she explained that she’s “been improving overall with [her] jiu-jitsu and especially with [her] submissions because [she] couldn’t get that the last fight.” As Khan talked about her growth and excitement for the upcoming fight, she said a submission is “something I’m hunting for this fight.”
Regarding her training, Khan is confident on where she’s at mentally and physically as she’s been training ever since IBJJF Worlds, which was about 3 months prior to this fight. She explained that while she expects Kelly to be “very aggressive and explosive,” she ultimately thinks “the fight will go my way.” Her main goal is “to be able to control the situation.”

In discussing Khan’s strength over Danielle Kelly, she confidently explained that it lies within her academy, Art of Jiu-Jitsu (AOJ). Khan spoke highly of the gym and her coach, stating “I have the best coach no matter what.” Which, as many of us in the Jiu-Jitsu community know, there are few better than the Mendes brothers when it comes to training Jiu-Jitsu.
Overall, Khan appeared calm and prepared for the upcoming bout with Kelly and firmly stated that “at the end of the day I’ll come out with the win.”

ONE Fight Night 14: Historic All-Female Led Card
This All-Female Headlined Card is set to be a historic event for the organization and the incredible women fighters representing martial arts. Jessa noted how excited she is to “be a part of history” and is eager that this is “just a stepping stone for women’s jiu-jitsu and she’s happy to be a part of it.” Ultimately, she “hopes this leads to bigger stages for other female competitors” in jiu-jitsu.
